Itinerary

1800 – Program begins.  All will file into the chapel and be seated.  Words from Young Nak Director and NCOA Chairman.

1830-1930 – Children’s performances and play.  After that there we will pose for a group photo.

1930-2030 – Dinner meal with children in the Young Nak dining hall.

2030-UTC – Children are sent to their homes (inside the building).  Santa arrives to deliver gifts.  Small gifts are given to teachers and staff as a token of appreciation.  Santa and volunteers will visit every home and deliver to the children.

For those that miss the 1745 departure time from Gate 20.  We ask that you don’t drive as there is limited parking there.

Some things to keep in mind

This is our fifth year doing this event so there are some lessons learned:

Young Nak is a Christian based organization.  Of course all are welcome, I just want to say that up front in case there are those that may take offense.

Some of the children are orphans, some were abandoned, some have families but can’t afford them.  There is also a group of children who live in the neighborhood but are very underprivileged and Young Nak has a special program for them.  They are all part of our program.  We don’t want to leave anyone out.  I say all this up front because it came as a surprise to some in the past who thought the children were all orphans (meaning without parents).  The children range in ages from infant to 19 ~ again, our program is for all so we make it a point to not leave the bigger kids out.

There is no particular dress code for the event – Holiday attire would be great!

There are a lot of moving pieces involved in the event.  I will try to make it so you can see your particular sponsored child…but no guarantees.  I can tell you what home the child lives in.  We will visit each one.

Please come motivated, full of Christmas spirit and ready to work.  The children will be very excited.  It will take all of us to help carry bags to deliver to all 120 children.  Our job will be to help Santa.  He is going to have a tough time climbing all the steps so we need to help him as much as possible.  Remember we are there for the children.  Please thank the Young Nak staff if you see them.  They really put on a great program and work hard preparing the dinner for us.

RULES:

-          You will receive an email with a child’s name, gender, age, sizes and Christmas wish~ I will try to accommodate requests for specific age and gender…but no guarantees
